As the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) proceeds with the I-30 East Corridor Project, residents of Deep Ellum face the unsettling possibility of losing their homes and businesses to eminent domain. In this historic, low-income neighborhood, there is growing concern about the fairness of the appraisals used to determine compensation. 

Perry Wolfe, a local entrepreneur with property in Deep Ellum, has steadfastly advocated for his neighbors. He insists that TxDOT should use current and relevant comparables in property appraisals. Wolfe argues that the existing comparables are outdated and biased, as they do not encompass a complete radius of comparable properties.
