The trailer for “Black Adam” features an appearance by Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate. Who speaks with a voice-over quote about two choices that will face Dwayne Johnson’s character: either being the destructor of the world or its savior.

The world has never seen a warrior like Black Adam. The character is over 5,000 years old and with super human strength that can punch through planes or withstand an exploding rocket while in his hands.

The video offers a look into some parts of the life of this ancient warrior, who was once just an ordinary man. It details how he became trapped in a tomb for over five millennia until finally getting out.

The teaser has also revealed some cast who will become part of the movie, like Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, and Quintessa Swindell.

Johnson expressed his gratefulness to his fans on Instagram after the teaser was dropped. He said, “Your unwavering support and relentless excitement for this passion project of mine has meant the world to me. Now it’s my turn to deliver for you. The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is changing.”

Johnson’s Black Adam will be a prequel to DC Comics’ plot, which pits him against another protagonist of the DCverse, Shazam. Zachary Levi plays the role and is excited about future collaborations.

“As a kid, Superman was the hero I always desire to be. But, a few years into my fantasy, I realized that Superman was the hero I could never be. I was too rebellious. Too rambunctious. Too resistant to convention and authority,” Johnson add on in his Instagram post.

To Johnson, Black Adam is “blessed by magic with the powers equal to Superman But the difference is he doesn’t toe the mark or walk the line. He’s a rebellious, one-of-a-kind superhero who’ll always do what’s right for the people — but he does it his way.”

Black Adam will grace the big screen on October 21.
