Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s production team hopes for a solid opening weekend, as it commemmorates the late Boseman.
According to box office experts, the movie may do better than expected, with domestic ticket sales averaging $185 million. Analysts also predicted that the Black Panther sequel’s revenue might surpass $200 million. The younger sister of T’Challa, Shuri, plays the role of the next Black Panther in the film’s narrative.
Colon cancer claimed the life of actor Chadwick Boseman, who played T’Challa in the first Black Panther film. As a result, the 2018 film needed adequate time to make the original movie’s sequel. But it’s not simply because of how well-liked the previous movie is that this one is predicted to do well at the box office. But also because it pays tribute to Boseman, a beloved figure among viewers.
Additionally, theater operators that suffered during the pandemic profit from the anticipated Black Panther sequel’s strong sales. For instance, the largest movie theater operator in the world, AMC Entertainment, just disclosed yet another quarter of the losses.
″‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is opening under extraordinary circumstances amidst a wave of goodwill and an outpouring of support for the work and legacy of Chadwick Boseman and the indelible mark he made in the title role in the original film that was a billion-dollar global hit,” said Paul Dergarabedian, an analyst at Comscore.

Remembering the Black Panther
Boseman’s passing grieved many. And now that a film honoring his on-screen memories is almost ready to premiere, the excitement remains tremendous. Because of the high expectation among Marvel fans, the weekend opening of the most recent Black Panther movie could equal box office records set by Marvel’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and Paramount’s “Top Gun: Maverick.”
The Multiverse of Madness will continue to lead the pack in terms of sales in 2022. When it premiered in May, it brought in almost $187 million in domestic ticket sales. The Batman ($134 million), “Jurassic World: Dominion” ($145 million), “Top Gun: Maverick” ($126 million), and “Thor: Love and Thunder” ($144 million) are some more big box office successes.
Analysts predict that the Black Panther movie will exceed 2022 box office receipts but take the top place for November’s highest domestic ticket sales. With $153 million in cumulative sales since its 2013 release, “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” presently retains the #1 slot.

Representation of the Black community
Analysts and operators think this weekend will be a big weekend for Hispanic and African-American moviegoers. Due to a predominantly Black cast, the first Black Panther movie was well-received when it was released. This helped the movie succeed by portraying the African American community. “Wakanda Forever” will include a primarily Black cast, similar to Black Panther.
“I think that what we’re going to see out of this film is that well over the indexing of the African American representation of consumers, and then over-indexing of Hispanic consumers into this,” said the National Association of Theatre Owners chairman, Rolando Rodriguez.
