Since the lockdowns began, the aviation sector has suffered serious damage. Countless corporate operations have been put on hold for more than two years as a result of Covid-19, which particularly impacted the travel sector and resulted in losses of trillions of dollars.
Even though limitations have been loosened, most aviation firms still have difficulty getting back on their feet. Many businesses are forced to face flight delays and cancellations following widespread layoffs and structural changes brought on by the pandemic. In addition, low levels of passenger satisfaction were recorded in the United States.
The world is enjoying more leisurely travel months as it waits for another frantic holiday season. While aviation businesses make the most of the upcoming months to get ready for the travel season, the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022 kicked into gear in London to recognize businesses that have overcome all obstacles. Unfortunately, the comeback event has not taken place in person since 2019.

To award the best in the industry
Skytrax is a United Kingdom-based airline and airport rating and ranking website. Skytrax has completed over 14 million customer surveys in 100 different countries for more than a year. Millions of surveys completed between September 2021 and August 2022 served as the basis for this year’s award results.
A regular Hall of Fame participant, Qatar Airways, was able to claim the top slot. Since the award-giving body began the polls in 1999, it has won the prize seven times, and this rating marks that record. In addition to winning the Best Airline award, Qatar Airways also won eight more awards, including Best Business Class Lounge Dining, Best Business Class, and Best Business Class Set, among others.
In addition to the accolades from Skytrax, Qatar Airways also achieved the top ranking from AirlineRatings.com. The success of the airline would not be possible, according to Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of Qatar Airways, without the efforts of every employee.
“To win these awards in the same year that we celebrate our 25th anniversary is even more rewarding,” added Baker.
“Consistent service, consistent product, consistent attention to passengers and absolute dedication from everyone that works in the airline.”
