Curative Insurance Company has announced that AM Best, a global credit rating agency focused on the insurance industry, has affirmed its A- (Excellent) Financial Strength Rating (FSR) and Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating (ICR) of “a-” for the third consecutive year. This affirmation reflects AM Best’s continued assessment of Curative’s financial position, including its risk-adjusted capitalization and support of its employer-based health plan.
According to AM Best, the FSR rating provides an independent opinion of an insurer’s ability to meet ongoing insurance obligations. An A- rating indicates a strong capacity to meet policyholder and contractual commitments, based on AM Best’s evaluation methodology. The “a-” Long-Term ICR similarly reflects AM Best’s view of the company’s ability to manage long-term financial responsibilities.
“We are pleased to maintain our A- rating from AM Best for another year,” said Tami Wilson-Ciranna, President and CFO of Curative. “This affirmation supports our efforts to maintain financial strength while pursuing an approach to health insurance that emphasizes transparency and cost-simplicity for members. As we continue to build our model, we believe this rating may help reinforce stakeholder confidence.”
Curative’s expansion in employer-based health insurance plans—featuring $0 copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs for in-network services*—has contributed to its current growth trajectory. The company has also emphasized digital health tools such as the Curative Zero Card and PPO-Max offerings, which it identifies as part of its broader service strategy.

Curative introduced its employer-focused plan in 2023 and has gradually expanded access to organizations in multiple states. The company’s stated mission is to reduce financial barriers to care and promote early engagement through preventive health measures.
